This year's tournament came to a fantastic close sometime around midnight on Saturday November 3rd. Early calculations would indicate that this year's donation will be larger than the $150,000 raised in 2011.
The heaviest rockfish, along with 2nd and 4th largest was caught by Captain Larry Haskins and the team on "Tax Planning". Third place went to Captain Steve Linhard and the "Hot Tuna" boat. The perch category was won by Dr. Stanley Watkin's team on the "Miss Cleo" and the final Grand Slam category was won by Greg Lilly's crew on the "Blue Jay". Congratulations to all the anglers!
The Captain's Challenge is the fundraising competition among the participating boats. Each Captain was asked to set a goal of raising $3,000 per boat. Many exceeded that goal. Fittingly, the winner of the Captain's Challenge was Club 411 / Leave it to Weaver which was Captained by Sharon Borland, a cancer survivor. Sharon's team managed to raise over $16,000 from nearly 170 individual donors, which is just a remarkable achievement.
Thanks so much to everyone for your continued support of this tournament and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2013!
